The Airedale, established in 1988 as a family owned and run
nursing home.Many people do not realise the differences between care homes and care homes with nursing, as nursing homes are now called. Both types of home provide accommodation, supervision from staff 24 hours a day, meals and help with personal care needs, but nursing homes also have registered nurses on duty at all times. This means that they can provide care for people with more complex needs and those who need regular nursing interventions.
Named 'The Airedale' after the area in Yorkshire that the director grew up in and trained as a nurse. The Airedale accomodates 57 nursing care beds, including the purpose built wing, which provides newly furbished rooms and a range of facilities.
Situated in the most idyllic and tranquil of settings in the market town of Bedford overlooking a beautiful Victorian period park, the home really must be viewed to be fully appreciated.
Run under the personal management of its owner who is a registered general nurse with many years experience, the home is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a care home with nursing and can accept service users who fall into the following categories;
The home offers an excellent standard of nursing care by committed caring friendly staff, the needs of the individual are always taken into consideration when planning a programme of care. Medical cover is provided by general practitioners of the individuals choice and fully qualified nursing staff are on duty 24-hrs.
